It’s my blog launch and giveaway day!!!
I’m seriously so glad you’re here reading my first post here at my new home! I’d love to give you a tour of the place, but before I do, I just wanted to take a minute and tell you a little about what has brought about this beginning.
I’ve been an on-and-off blogger for 6 years, and have always found it to be such a great outlet for me. I chronicled newly-wed life, the births of all 3 of our children, and just whatever struck my fancy. Then, in 2010 I started a handmade business {much more about this later} and time for blogging began to get pushed to the back burner as I threw myself into the crazy ride of starting, running and growing my business. The past 2.5 years have been full of joy, hard work and fun challenges. I’ve made and shipped out over 1700 orders from my etsy shop {not counting what was sold to family, local friends and craft markets}, enjoyed starting a new facebook page, ventured into the craft/arts market scene and dabbled in a little wholesale.
And I learned that I really miss blogging.
So, I’m back on the scene, but this time with a little twist. You’ll see a bunch of categories in the menu because I didn’t want to box myself in, but a major thrust of this blog will be the in’s and out’s of my business.
I have had a lot of people ask me for guidance in starting their own handmade business and I’ve learned that I’m really passionate about that. I really love the empowerment that comes from making something with your very own hands and using that to support yourself and your family; making all the decisions yourself, setting your own hours and being your own boss. Sure, it can be a tad daunting, but it’s SOOOO exciting! I want to give a face to a handmade business and chronicle my own journey while helping readers who might want to try it for themselves.
You will see my business from a behind-the-scenes view, my personal trial and error and lots of updates, deals and sneak peeks of what I’m doing in my shop. And, OF COURSE I will keep blogging about the other things that make me tick. :)
I’ve gone ahead and “fluffed the pillows” around here for you and put up a post or two in all of the categories just to give you a little taste so please pour that second {third} cup of coffee or tea and take a little look around.
