A new vlog!!!
 
 
{Can I tell you that I shake inside just a little every time I post one of these?}
 
 
 

I wanted to tell you real quick that awhile back I was getting spammed here a LOT.  I was having to go through and delete more than 20 spam trackbacks a day so I installed a plugin to help with that.  What I didn’t know was that NONE of your comments were getting through.  Every single one was being rejected because I had forgotten about another spam plugin I already had.  Between the two plugins, everything was being rejected.

 
 
So, if you took the time to comment only to be rejected as a spambot, I am so sorry. I’m pretty sure it’s all fixed now, but if you have any more issues, please let me know on facebook or instagram.

  1. Dinner has been a big struggle around here, too. This year I hope to be able to have a PLAN for dinner and keep my family a little healthier in general. We are bad about going out to grab a bite on the nights where I’m just too worn out to get in the kitchen.

    I have actually just discovered http://onceamonthmeals.com/, so I hope to use some of these recipes very soon. I don’t see myself doing a full 8 hour cooking day once a month, but I figure I can use the recipes she has listed and make double batches- one to eat that night and one to freeze and eat on the nights I don’t have it in me to prepare something. I also really like that she has a whole foods menu, so I can still feel good about cutting out some of the crap that we typically eat on those busy days. We’ll see how it goes.

    Good luck to you and your goals. They seem like worthy things to work towards!

      So glad to hear I’m not alone. Isn’t it always the planning??? I’m not great at that, but when I have one, things are just so much better. Maybe I should start writing a weekly menu out again. At least get some ideas started. I hope OAMM works for you! I used to do that and it was sooo nice to just open the freezer and pull out dinner. Let me know what you think!

  2. Dinners are a mess around here too. Every night we have at least 1 (of the 5) boys on their way to a sport/activity. I have to plan, plan, plan and usually dinner involves crock pot meals. I’m looking into once a month meals as well. Good luck. Linking up with Alissa. xoxo

      5 BOYS {!!!} I’m sure that means our double batches are what you guys go through in one night. I guess we just do the best we can, huh? I tried once a month meals and didn’t really put in the effort to make it work well, but in the past it has been a life saver. So glad you stopped by, Angela! Best wishes to you and that clan!

    Thanks for sharing, Dana. I like the idea of setting a vision for my year by choosing my “word of the year”. I’ve gotten this idea from other mommy blogger sites that I follow – like Tsh at The Art of Simple, Mandi at Life Your Way, and Lisa at Lisa Leonard Designs – and using that word to help guide me in the direction of how I navigate through all my “to-do’s” or short-term goals that I hope can lead me to a bigger dream. This year I have chosen the word “trust”. Good luck with your goals! I love your jewelry (hope I can set aside some funds to splurge on something for spring time)! Keep up all the hard work that you do on a daily basis!

    As for meals, breakfast is usually really healthy and satisfying…lunch I tend to do take-out (mostly Jimmy John’s) as my son and I are out and about….and by dinner time, even if I have meal plans, I sometimes forget to look at them in advance and end up putting a frozen pizza in! Definitely need to work on that myself, too! Although, I know exactly what I should and shouldn’t be eating, which makes me more frustrated.

      I hear you, Caitlin! I’ve been slow to get on the the “word of the year” train, but this year I did! My word is “intention” and I love yours too! Maybe we can turn things around this year? (Still don’t have a dinner plan for tonight.) :)
